Iron Sharpens Iron Conference Speakers

We are so excited about the women who have made time in their schedules to encourage us at this year's Iron Sharpens Iron Women's Conferences! It is going to be a wonderful opportunity for women all across the Northeast to gather together and enjoy stories and seminars that will inspire and build you up as a unique creation of God. 


Every Iron Sharpens Iron Women's Conference consists of two keynote sessions and sixteen different equipping seminars. These sessions will cover topics specific to women in every season of life. We will be sure to update the website regularly as the speakers are confirmed. Stay tuned!

Keynote Speakers

Carol Kent

Carol Kent is a bestselling author and international speaker.  With vulnerable openness, irrepressible hope, restored joy, and a sense of humor, she directs you to choices based on God’s truth.  Carol says, “When God writes your story, you will be in for the adventure of a lifetime!”


She is the president of Speak Up Speaker Services, a Christian speakers’ bureau, and the founder and director of the Speak Up Conference, a ministry committed to helping Christians develop their speaking and writing skills. She and her husband, Gene, have founded the nonprofit organization, Speak Up for Hope, which benefits inmates and their families.  Carol holds a master’s degree in communication arts and a bachelor’s degree in speech education.


Carol has trained Christian speakers for over twenty-five years and she has been a featured speaker at Women of Faith, Extraordinary Women, and Women of Joy arena events.  She is the author of over twenty books, including the bestselling When I Lay My Isaac Down, Speak Up with Confidence, and Becoming a Woman of Influence.  Her newest books are titled, Unquenchable and Waiting Together.

Barb Roose

Discovering her beautiful identity in Christ transformed Barb from a young woman desperately searching for self-worth and acceptance into a confident woman in Christ who still makes mistakes but embraces the captivating power of grace.


She is the author of the book, Enough Already: Winning Your Ugly Struggle with Beauty and a six-week DVD Bible study titled, Beautiful Already: Reclaiming God’s Perspective on Beauty. Barb has been speaking at conferences, churches and women’s ministry events since 2005.


Prior to transitioning to full-time ministry as a speaker and author, Barb served on staff at CedarCreek Church in Perrysburg, Ohio for almost 14 years, most recently as the Executive Director of Ministry.  She co-led CedarCreek’s annual Fabulous Women’s Conference that reached over 10,000 women during the event’s five years.


Lucinda Secrest McDowell

Lucinda Secrest McDowell, M.T.S., is passionate about embracing life — both through deep soul care from drawing closer to God, as well as living courageously in order to touch a needy world. A storyteller who engages both heart and mind, she delights in weaving grace and mercy into ordinary life situations. A graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and Furman University, Lucinda is the author of 13 books and contributing author to 30+ books. Her books include the award-winning, Dwelling Places (2017 Christian Retailing Best Award for Devotional) , Ordinary Graces,  Live These Words, Refresh! and Role of a Lifetime.  A member of Advanced Writers and Speakers Association (AWSA), Lucinda guest blogs monthly for The Write Conversation. Whether co-directing  "reNEW ~ retreat for New England Writing,"  pouring into young moms, or leading a restorative day of prayer, she is energized by investing in people of all ages. Lucinda’s favorites include tea parties, good books, laughing friends, ancient prayers, country music, cozy quilts, musical theatre, and especially her family scattered around the world doing amazing things.  Known for her ability to convey deep truth in practical and winsome ways, she writes from “Sunnyside” cottage in New England and blogs weekly at

Gail Cooper

Gail is a fun-loving, beach-goer, God-fearing, Jesus follower, New Englander. The passion of her heart is to share the truth of God's word with other women. Her scars are deep, but they remind her of the darkness God has brought her out of. God has shown her that it is truly possible to choose joy in any circumstance. It is because of his transforming Grace that she is able to share from her heart and speak into the lives of others.Gail is a inspirational speaker and the co-founder of Take Two Ministries.

Rhonda Corey

Do you remember laughing so hard that your side hurt? Chances are it's been way too long. Comedian Rhonda Corey will change all that! Her quick wit and comical take on ordinary life will leave you gasping for air! She knows the importance of laughter not to mention all the health benefits. Rhonda believes this with all her heart which is why she loves to minister to women in this way. Rhonda is co-founder of Take Two Ministries.

Collette Allen

Collette Allen is the Director of Mentoring, Pastors’ Spouses Network of Vision New England which seeks to unifies, encourage and equip caring Christ-centered relationships among pastors’ spouses. She provides mentor training which furnishes leaders with a biblical framework for addressing the unique needs of a pastor’s spouse. She is also the president and founder of Meet Me At The Well Women’s Ministry where she has served for the past 11 years, facilitating workshops, retreats and bringing women together in Christ for encouragement, service and spiritual growth.  Collette speaks with honesty and transparency, sharing her personal experiences as a testimony of God’s faithfulness. She has been married for 30 years and the mother of 3 children and 1 one granddaughter. She loves to read, travel and cook.

Lori Stanley Roeleveld

Lori Stanley Roeleveld is a disturber of hobbits who enjoys making comfortable Christians late for dinner. She’s authored an unsettling blog since 2009; a pursuit that eventually resulted in her first book, Running from a Crazy Man (and other adventures traveling with Jesus). Her next book, Jesus and the Beanstalk (Overcoming Your Giants and Living a Fruitful Life), releases September 2016. Her speculative Christmas novella, Red Pen Redemption, is a quick but challenging read if you love history and life’s big questions. Lori grew up in Rhode Island and lives there now with her husband, Rob. She has two grown children, one son-in-law, a day job, and her own Jesus adventure.

Vicki Kardos

Vicki is a Pastoral Sexual Addiction Specialist and certified Genesis Process Relapse Prevention counselor for women.  Vicki brings real life experience of being married to and dealing with the compulsive behavior of an addict.  Vicki, along with and her husband Rick, co-founded the Nathan Project, a ministry providing hope and healing for men and their families trapped in the cycle of sex addiction and pornography. She has extensive training and experience building and leading For Women Only (FWO) support groups for spouses. She is the author of S.T.O.R.M—Surviving Trauma and Overcoming Relational Mistrust and Changing the Shadow of our Future support group workbooks for wives and ex-wives.

Rachel Britton

Rachel is a British-born author, blogger and speaker. Her passion is to empower women to know their worth so they can be bold on their journey. With a Masters in Religion from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, Rachel uses God’s Word to lead others into a deep relationship with the God who loves them. Her appreciation for study translates into interesting details embedded in her messages. She is author of Prayer Zone Workout: Spiritual and Physical Exercise for the Heart and it’s accompanying app for iPhone and Android. Having worked on ministry staff to women at Grace Chapel, in Lexington, Massachusetts, Rachel has valuable experience for reaching women of all ages.

Vicki Heath

Vicki Heath is National Director, First Place 4 Health. Vicki is a certified fitness instructor for the American Council on Exercise, a certified life coach and Wellness Coordinator for her church in Edisto Beach, SC. Vicki is author of the book Don’t Quit Get Fit and Wellness Journey of a Lifetime. She has led a successful First Place 4 Health ministry for over twenty years. Vicki is passionate about Christ and has a desire to help others understand the value of caring for their bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit. Vicki is married to her pastor, Rob and they have four children and six grandchildren.

Tammy Gerhard

Tammy has a passion for coffee, people and most importantly Jesus. As a counselor and mentor, she has spent many years walking others down paths that lead to freedom and joy in the Lord. Tammy serves as a high school counselor and leadership program coordinator at a Christian school, supporting teens to serve the Lord by using their gifts to bless their communities. As part of a local grassroots prayer movement, she has been given a front row seat to see God at work all around her. Tammy and her husband, along with two of her former students, recently opened a Christ-honoring coffee shop in the center of their town.  On any given day, she can be found there, latte in hand counseling and encouraging whoever God places in her path. Tammy and her husband Glenn live in Manchester, CT along with their two teenage children

Elisa Pulliam

Elisa Pulliam is the author of Meet the New You and founder of the ministry More to Be. She is a certified life coach, mentor, and speaker who is passionate about inspiring women to experience a fresh encounter with God for the sake of impacting the next generation. Elisa savors times with her husband, Stephen, and their four tween through college-age children.

Valerie D'Apice

Valerie D’Apice understands firsthand the dramatic impact that chronic illness and disability have on family relationships. With two daughters and a husband with a rare genetic disorder she has been a caregiver for many years. At one point before her in-laws died she was caring for three generations in the family simultaneously. Balancing home, work and caregiving seemed nearly impossible at times.  She is no stranger to caregiver stress! Whether talking to Christian or secular groups, Valerie shares her message with heart. She has spoken to groups throughout New England and New Jersey and likes to quip that she is now an “international speaker” thanks to livestreaming capabilities. She is a certified Class Leader for Powerful Tools for Caregivers and is currently working on a small group study for caregivers. Valerie and her husband Larry live in Meriden, CT.

Kristi Stoughton

Kristi Stoughton is from Hudson NH, where she currently resides with her husband Brian and their two sons.  As a speaker for women’s events, Kristi has a passion for women to know God’s love deeply. She worked in the secular business world for more than 20 years, where she had extensive presentation experience as a speaker for nationwide events. The success of these experiences made Kristi long to be investing her energies in something more lasting, something that would help people get closer to God. God answered her prayers and used these business-world experiences as stepping stones in preparation for a Christian speaking ministry. In addition to the speaking ministry, Kristi is also on staff at by design ministries, an organization whose mission is to equip and support women in ministry and leadership positions. She is the Director for WeConnect, the young women’s ministry arm of by design.

Debbie Lowe

Debbie encourages women to pursue wholehearted trust in the Lord. Sharing Scripture and personal experiences Debbie helps women gain the courage to step out in faith and obedience, following wherever the Lord leads. A blogger and speaker, Debbie has served her home church in a variety of capacities including Women’s Ministry leader, Bible Study Facilitator and Deacon of Worship. Debbie lives in Connecticut with Richard, her husband of 35 years.
